About the event
On June 6, 2025, the Shanghai Consular Cultural Charity Gala returned for its third consecutive year, once again bringing together a distinguished gathering of consuls general based in Shanghai, business executives, cultural figures, and philanthropists. Held under the theme “A Night of Splendor,” the gala combined charity with cross-cultural exchange, creating an evening of elegance and impact in the heart of Lujiazui.
The evening opened with a performance by a handpan ensemble, followed by welcome speeches from Dr. Chen Yuru, Dean of the Shanghai Consular Corps, who highlighted the power of charity in bridging borders and embodying the spirit of a shared global community. Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee, UN Resident Coordinator in China, also addressed the audience, affirming that small acts of kindness can make a great difference.
